4 Habits I Replaced With Social Media & I Am the Proudest of Myself

I was a professional time-waster. And my waste place was social media. I used to binge-watch Instagram reels as if this is my profession and someone is going to transfer hundreds of dollars for seeing random people doing random things completely unrelated to me.

Pretty stupid, huh? Well, I am not the only stupid then. We both are in the same boat — scrolling social media like it’s going to heal us and pay our bills.

But that doesn’t happen. In fact, it leaves us with:

a) Excessive boredom because gosh, social media is more fun than dealing with real life. So obviously, reality starts to seem dull and boring.

b) Feeling guilty and self-loathing for wasting time.

c) Subconsciously registering the details of others’ lives to feel jealous and compare what and why we don’t have the same things as others do.

d) Numbing our brain to a level that we start to act like an addict. After every few minutes, we feel this physical itch to use the mobile phone again even if just to open and lock it again instantly. (seriously, what’s that about)
