How to LOVE Yourself In The Right Manner to Build a Beautiful Life
In the last decade, terms like self-love, self-care, self-respect, and self-esteem have not become popular amongst YouTubers but it has also become a part of our daily vocabulary.
While it’s good to see that we are finally paying attention to ourselves, it’s also disturbing to see how we are ruining ourselves in the name of ‘self-love.’
What you call self-love is actually self-destruction.
You might ask, HOW?
For example: earlier this month, I was struggling with getting back to work. I am working on my new book. Instead of sitting down to write it, I was facing self-doubts on some level because of which I was avoiding the work. I knew deep down that I could do it yet I wouldn’t sit down to just write.
I kept making excuses to myself as if someone was listening to me. Sometimes, I would say ‘I deserve to rest for one day at least.’ Then I would call it self-care the next day and the day after, I would swamp myself in unnecessary work just to avoid the main task.
Can you see the toxic self-love pattern here?
Self-love isn’t about handing yourself everything and anything that comes into your mind. It’s not about fulfilling every urge.
You cannot continue to harm yourself and then call it self-love just to skip the outcome.
