I Don’t Focus on Buying These Things Anymore to Live My Best Life
For as long as I can remember, I wanted to make a lot of money to buy everything I desire. Trendy clothes that I see influencers wearing on Instagram, skin care products so that my skin radiates like sunshine, makeup products so I look like a perfect barbie, and the list was long enough to choke me.
I became a minimalist almost a year back. I even did a no-buying challenge for one entire year. And in that one year, I realized that even without buying any of the stuff from my long list, I was not only happy but more satisfied. I had a mindset that if we can buy everything we want, we will be able to enjoy life. But let’s accept it, no one is enjoying life because they have tons of clothes in their wardrobe.
And I truly believe that I am not a saint who can talk big here. You and I are the same. We are just manipulated into believing that we need to buy more, and have more to live a life that everyone thinks is worth living.
Open any social media platform, watch any advertisement, look at any model, and you will find just one thing — a feeling that they are so perfect. That you lack something. That you can look better, and more beautiful if you start using a 10-step skincare routine. That you can look as sassy and cool if you can have a better fashion sense. That you can be happier if…
