I Hated Myself so I Create a Better Version of Myself & You Should Too
Have you seen those social media influencers screaming their lungs out, ‘Just Be YOURSELF’?
I used to love this advice until 2 years back.
And I am sure you must have come across this advice too at least once in your life but the real meaning of the same is understood by only a few.
Let me give you a recap;
Almost 2 years back, I was at the worst phase of my life. When covid-19 hit the world, I was sent back to my home town which means living with my parents. I was happy at first but as soon as the vacation period ended, I met with reality.
I was growing arrogant, lazy, overweight, and procrastinated a lot. The key reason behind my misery was,
I didn’t know what I was passionate about?
And as college was about to end, I had to get a good job so that people don’t call me a FAILURE or compare me to my cousins.
The more I thought about it, the more I was becoming pathetic. Instead of working on myself, I somehow became ignorant enough to proudly say ‘JUST BE YOURSELF, Renuka’
Instead of working on my anger issues, I was just myself,
Instead of finding my calling, I was just myself and
Instead of hitting the gym, I was just myself (growing more & more weight)
Result?
