I Spent 120 Hours Without Phone & I Wasn’t Ready For What Happened: Why You Should Care

You and I live in the same world. No, not this beautiful mother earth. But the other digital world where we have lost our mental capabilities and have adopted the desire to do more, be more, have more and achieve more while losing the grip on what really matters like your real love life, your relationship with yourself, and the connection between you and mother nature.

Now, I know you already all this but do you?

You and I know how we are becoming invisible in our lives and to the people around us yet we are more interested in knowing the updates of other’s life who we don’t even know. Why? And How?

Why are we not interested in our real life? And

How did we end up becoming so handicapped that going for a walk without a phone never crossed our minds?

And do you know what’s even more ironic?

The irony is that you know you are addicted to your phone yet you seem to have no control over yourself. How? Well, let’s discuss that first.

I spent 120 Hours Without a Phone and OMG! I was not ready to face what I observed and felt. Here is what my observation says:

I believe there are two reasons why you are not able to get rid of your mobile addiction which are:

1. You Are Trapped:

In Cal Newport’s book, ‘Digital Minimalism’ he says, 'tech companies continue to invest major resources into making their products and services addictive so that you’ll continue scrolling and tapping'

YOUR TIME = THEIR MONEY

You, I, and all of us are so addicted to our devices because they were designed after a careful analysis of basic human nature so that they can use your own nature against you. All these devices and social media platforms are designed with just one purpose – TO ROB YOUR ATTENTION, MAKE YOU POWERLESS & DUMB. Every advertisement, every video, and every post is placed in the right place so that you keep clicking and digging until you realize ‘YOU HAVE WASTED A LOT OF TIME’ And after countless hours like this, you curse yourself and watch YouTube videos on ‘how to be productive’ or ‘how to get rid of
