I Told My Friend I Cannot Babysit Her; What Adult Friendships Are About

Being an adult is a full-time job itself and I wish someone had trained us for adulting — at least we could have a part-time internship to know what we are signing up for.

Growing up, I faced two major issues that influenced my personality and it still does. That’s the reason I talk a lot about ‘childhood or past experiences.’

The issues were:

a) I was underconfident,

B) I had difficulty making friends.

As I was an underconfident person, I anyway faced a lot of difficulty in making new friends but if that was not enough, I had to change school after 5th grade every two years. Hence, I had to restart every time.

The problem was — I never had a best friend because of this one reason. Before I could reach that ‘best friend’ situation with anyone, it would be time to change schools and start over.

Hence to date, I wish for a best friend.

But that often makes me question — Why do I want to have a best friend?

And the answer is — THE GLORY OF A BEST FRIEND PRESENTED TO US.
