What Should You Do After Reading a Book — Don’t Waste Your Time on Books

I started reading nonfiction books because I was lost and clueless. Apart from career difficulties, I was also struggling emotionally, hence, I picked nonfiction books to guide me. However, gradually my interest grew in books and now I am an avid reader and book blogger. It’s been more than a year since I am reading and, in this time, I have had a word with several readers on what do they do after completing a book. I was looking for some definite answer but alas! I didn’t get even a single satisfactory answer. Now, you must be wondering why was I looking for an answer at the very first place?

Well, there are more than 600,000 and 1,000,000 books published every year in the US alone. Books like “The power of your subconscious mind”, “The magic of thinking big” and other books like these are bestsellers. In fact, more than 5 million copies of such bestselling books are being sold till now.

But I was wondering where those 5 million people are? If 5 million people have read even one bestselling book then why are those 5 million people not successful? Why are more than 99% of them still on the same page where they started?

Then I realize that people don’t know what to do after reading a book. They just pick a book, feel accomplished after reading it and mentally they make an imaginary image of themselves where they have changed. And that is the core reason why every year so many nonfiction books are being published.
