I am Renuka and I am in my early twenties. Yes, an age where all the motivational quotes about life, and society force you to live a wild life, travel around the world, go to as many pubs/bars as possible, have a hot date, and ENJOY life.

Popular TV shows and movies show how a young girl with big ambitions falls in love with a handsome man and eventually they end up living a perfect life. A life worth making a movie on.

Whereas I have never been in a romantic relationship. And even if I were, I know things wouldn’t have been so flowery and cute as we see in movies. But does that mean, I am not living the best life if I don’t have a partner to make me feel loved or whatever the shit people throw at us?

Or the other day I was listening to one of my favorite 90’s songs with a cup of tea in hand and looking out of the window to feel the pleasant monsoon season, I felt completely happy. But then I started scrolling through social media, and came across influencers who are highlighting the value of wearing the nicest clothes, following the trend, traveling every month, eating the food that looks more beautiful than your face and God knows what not.

In fact, everywhere you look, you will come to a bunch of advertisements that encourage you to buy the new luxurious car, have the latest iPhone in hand, eat at the new giant resort, or go on a vacation to live the life you are destined for.

But there is one question that often jumps inside my head and makes me wonder,

‘IS LIVING A NORMAL LIFE DOESN’T WORTH LIVING?”

Truth be told, I believe in romanticizing life, making things a little better than they are supposed to be, and feeling the love all around me, and I like to think that I am in a movie playing the lead character.

However, at the same time, I don’t like to do or have things just because everyone has or do it.

For example; every single day, the first thing I do in the morning is express gratitude and do a workout, then get ready in good clothes so that I feel ready for the new day. But I haven’t bought any new cloth for the past 1 year. Yes, you heard that right. I am a girl and one of the…
